I am not familiar with the buick rear, but if it has a simlar coupling within the torque tube then yes. I am converting my Ford rear but taking a yoke, having it turned out to match the OD of the coupling, then weld the coupling into the yoke. Then using the matching oil seal to that of the yoke. Then cutting the torque tube down to size and having a small insert made to match the ID of the torque tube to the OD of the seal...
Hopefully that makes some sense. There is a fair bit out there if you search for "open drive conversion".

If it has a driveshaft like a model A and there is no coupling at the rear end, you could always cut the driveshaft and have it welded to a yoke... but then there may be some assembly issues as to how everything bolts back up...

Anything can be done if you have the green to make it happen.

The bigger question is why do you want to convert to an open drive line?

I assume you want to run a more modern tranny, in which case why not run a modern rearend, or even a vintage rearend that came with an open driveline.

Ya, want to go with a more "normal" trans. Something that I can go to the local parts store to get parts for. I mention Dynaflow to anyone and they give me a chuckle before the $ start adding up. I found a couple adapter plates so I can use the nailhead. I could change the rearend but I like it...

You're going to be money and time ahead to do a rear end swap. You're already putting in a stronger/modern transmission, so why spend countless hours and headaches only to keep a weak link in the driveline? You want to be able to easily source parts for the transmission, so why not the rear? Brakes and bearings need replacing more often than transmission stuff. You might "like" the Buick rear end, but I'm betting you will "like" driving your car more, especially when it is a little more worry-free. Of course I would recommend a 8 or 9 inch Ford or 8 3/4 Mopar, but even a GM 10 bolt will be better than that old Buford pig. Find yourself a suitable replacement size-wise and hang it under there. You won't regret it...
