engine preferences

for my lincoln i wanna put in a big block, but am not sure as to which one, im not really brand specific on things, so i've searched the web for some cheap engines and came up with about 6 options for engines under $1000.

What engines would you guys go with and please list why.

A Lincoln with Caddy power-the purists are gonna LOVE you. I like it!!!

Keep it in the family. I like the 390 because there are not so many around any more and they make plenty of power.

A 1946 Lincoln Continental is a very rare car. Only 201 convertables and 265
Club coupes build! I would keep it in the family. Ford 390.

You can get a BBF 460 just as easy as a 390 and about the same price.

if it was me i would just pick up 2 motors for 500
and if its not what you want sell them seperate and make a little $$ then you can buy what you realy want
