coe

i have always wondered if you could just use a regular 1/2 ton truck and make a coe out of it. are the fenders shorter than a 1/2 ton? i can see the hood is a little shorter and shaped a little wider at the front. that could easily be cut/grafted and welded on a stock hood. the body is obviously just raised up.what do you guys think?

Top half of the cab is the same but that's about it. Look closely and you see the fenders go into the doors.
The military one is not a 50, more like a 54.
I can get this one for a grand but I'm probably going to pass because it's too rough.

I had this one given to me about 5 years ago but never went after it (yet)

coe

yea willowbilly3, i know about that style of cab. what i was thinking was an ad chevy or the '53 type ford cabs. i know you would have to cut the door and floor but would that really scare anybody that much from doing one? what has me thinking is, i have a '73 ford motor home i stripped out and i know where a '46 and a '53 ford flatbed truck are. since the '73 ford is a class c type, i thought maybe i could buy the '46 or the '53 and do some grafting/cutting and welding and viola, coe.

Not trying to hijack your thread but I was looking on CL yesterday in Orlando while I am on vacation and found a place called Southeast Chevy Parts. They only sell full size Chevy parts from the 60's. I went to look at the stuff he had and found a complete power steering for my 62 Impala. [cl

Hmm... That "too rough" one would fetch five times that up here in "Rust World." Punched in nose or not.:D
