I'm going to be starting my frame planning stages soon, and I have a couple questions of the frame builders:

What tubing sizes and wall thicknesses are you guys typically using?

I was looking at 2 x 4 (.187 wall), do you guys typically use thinner wall than 3/16? I imagine most of you are .187 or thicker wall for frame building.

Thanks for the input.

depends really on ur power plant... and how much of a chop, and if your tucking the frame under the body....

I like using the 2x4 3/16ths. good and strong, and it is thick enough to tap threads into for brackets for brake lines, fuel lines, ect.

I'm right there with lowandraty for all the reasons he stated. If it is something like a small T body 2 x 3 is more proportional, but I still like 3/16 wall.

With the 4 inch you might have to cut a taper in it to about 3 inches in front, just for cosmetics and not to look so bulky.
