front axle identification

Does these numbers mean anything ? I need to replace the king-pins and bushings . but I don't know what year to ask for . they will have to order this , so I need to know what to tell them . any help ?

so I can order pins and bushings for a 50 chevy 1/2 ton and they are supposed to fit ?... If I can get them to order me some and give a description I may be able to look at them and see if they are close before I take it apart .. It looks like if you take the wedge bolt out ,, they will just come strait out .. ( I hope ) they are in bad shape ... Does all axles have those ID. numbers on them ? Oh. thanks a lot for the imfo . Our parts house's here are not to spiffy !!!!! on something like this .. If you cant tell them how many doors , what color it is , and how many rocks are in the floor-board , they cant find it in the computer ...

Well , just like I figured,, Our parts house said .... not in computer ,,,, so we cant get it for you ,,, what did you say it was ?????? (KING-PINS AND BUSHINGS ) let me call you back .... ..... ...... telephone rigs ,,, I say hello .. he says I can get you the king pins but no bushings What good will kin pins do without the bushings ... He said I don't know they don't offer the bushings [S OK so I found them on-line about everywhere ,, so I'll find some one with pay-pal and order me a set . I have a 5 lug on here so hopefully some one didn't change it out to some thing else . Ive got 49 chevy truck brake shoes on it now so maybe ill get lucky and they will fit .

I just went on the NAPA Auto parts web site and came up with two part numbers for king pin kits for a 1950 Chevy 1/2 ton. Here's the numbers:

NCP 2621296
NCP 2621296010

If you go to a local napa you should be able to have the order those for you without much trouble. I had them do that for my 52 dodge 1/2 ton king pin kit. Hope that helps, then you have no need for PayPal.

1941-59 Chevy spindles. I will fix your spindles that have wore out bushing holes. Install new over size ID bushings for standard .866 size kingpins. and include new kingpin set for $120 a set

Yes ,sir eeeee Thank you , very much. I know I really didn't want to fool with pay-pal . Our local napa dealer is about 35 min, away but Id rather get it from a parts house than order it on line . We have an autozone , advance and orileys.. All the old timers that new about cars don't work in these stores here. Ill feel safer once I get these replaced , the drivers side has a lot of movement in it.

I miss the old part house's ,, you could go in them and tell him your putting a chevy engine in a toyota truck and you needed a motor mount that you could make work and he would turn and go down the shelves and look for a min. or two and come back with something that you could make work .... Those were the days !!!!!!

well I got one side out and the parts are supposed to be in at 2 o'clock today so we will see . I new it was going to be a job , but geeesh !!!!!!!!!! I went and took the axle out and pressed it out .. I took them out with a hammer before , but that wasnt happening this time ..

All pins and bushings are back in place , front end back under truck , but have to replace shoes now, the pad fell off in my hand [S Always some thing you really was not expecting to change .. good thick pad , just turned loose . oh well maybe I can figure out why I have a hard pedal but not a lot of stopping power ..
