Set up my front end today and notice that my spring shackles are a little flat.

I know 45 degrees is optimum, but was wondering if my set up will be ok?

Is the motor hoisted, or is all the weight on the plywood wheels? 45 with all the weight and or surprised the plywood is holding it.

You've got way too many leaves in that spring. It was built to hold up something like a much heavier 48 Ford so it will ride like a rock unless you soften it up some. I would remove every other leaf after leaving the main leaf and the leaf next to that one. Start there and see how it sits and bounces.

I count about 12 leaves. Get it down to 6 or 7 and you will have a good start.

Thanks for the replies. No the engine is not hoisted. All the weight of the motor in on the front spring.

I will get to removing some leafs and see how she sets.

Thanks again.
