This is on my 94 Chevy 1500. I have a few gauges acting screwy and the guy I bought the truck from had given me a few extra parts for it... one being a new instrument panel. I want to swap it out and see if this helps the gauges. My question is... Will this reset the speedo or will it not effect the computer to unhook it and plug in the new one? The speedometer is one of the ones that still works on the old cluster so I don't want to reset anything if I unplug it.

Thanks in advance.

guage swap

If the cluster has electronic mileage, that mileage is kept in memory on the main computer, and will show the same miles with the new cluster, unhooking the battery will not reset electronic odometers, wish it did then my cars would be new all the time :D if it is the old style rolling numbers that will be whatever the donner cluster has listed on it.
