Going through some "stuff" I came across a 1954 phone book from Gardner-Athol Mass.

They were already dead to me anyway. I couldn't tell one of those plastic road appliances from another.

She can move-
She can groove-
She can rock- the highway-
When the policeman see her-
All he do- is say look on yonder-
There she go-
Mustang Sally-
Got a brand new GTO-
We can't catch her-
We can't catch her-
Let her go-
She too much-
She too much-
The police said-
She too much-

Would any of you who are my age or almost my age trade growing up when we did for growing up today? I wouldn't, and feel I was so lucky to live in the exact time period I did.:) Youngsters today have no idea what a simple, pleasant, cool time in history that was. Everything was new and exciting to us, and even something as simple as the arrival of the new model year cars was an event.

All of those car brands you showed were something special in their day, but became just another clone of every other car on the road in their final days. Pretty soon we will all be driving around in electric cars that resemble boxes on wheels. :(:(

we aren't now? I was sad when the last Cadillac Brougham rolled off the line. it was the last of the cars that actually had shiney trim pieces like bumpers and window trim. How pretty it was as it rolled along the street with the street lights twinkling off the trim. I believe that was 1992.
