[Hot Jalopy]

New to this site, had tried joining several hot rod sites but just try talking about Rat Rods its like swearing in church.
An Australian male, 54, tall, 130kgs loves 1936 - 1939 Rat Rods, Toyota Crowns, Gardening and English Bull Terriers.
I have a 1938/39 Plymouth Rat Rod actually the project started out as a 4 door sedan but I'm working towards building a 5 window coupe using the 39 Plymouth body sections and a 1953 FJ Holden rear section.

Good Day from Australia Pic's

Here's some pics of the ideas process and some of the chassis work started. I haven't any pics of the body work as yet but will take some soon. Its very much the start of the project build will start on mating the front and rear body sections together during the Xmas break.

Looks like a great project. What type of engine is that in your pictures?

The red engine is the Australian red Holden 253 V8 4.2 litre but I'm thinking of installing a 2.8L straight 6 Toyota Crown engine mated to a 4 speed electronic automatic transmission its the engine picture at the bottom.

Update - 06.12.08 We've done the maths and am considering fitting a Valian 318 fitted with a 4 speed.
