I know I've seen this discussed, but can't find anything on it. What are good donor vehicles I can find at the junk yard for pedal assembly/brake booster/master cylinder? I'm running disc brakes all the way around.

Here's a pic to see what room I'm working with. The steering box isn't mounted yet, but will be close to where it's at.

Thanks,

sio are the most abundant,, mustnags , even some frony wheel drive strait shifts just according to what ya run for a trans mission, any thing can work for autos, i used mitsubishi eclipes , it has 4 wheel disc,, i put it with my drums, man it got pedal!1

Just a thought, but you probably won't even need a ugly booster. I run front disks with no booster on my 63 F100 and even loaded down the brakes are VERY good - drums were scary at times runnin' empty.

If you run a hydraulic clutch (I hate 'em - no snap) you don't have to mess with linkage match up.

I was planning on just mounting it on the firewall, but I saw this new kit that Speedway sells for like $110 that mounts under the floor that was pretty cool... only problem is I don't think I have room under the floor.

I think I may keep the rear drums. I know an old bronco or something would work, but my father-in-law (who is teaching me) insists I find a GM kit.

I still have the 37 pedal that came with the truck and was going to see if I could modify those somehow, but as far as my master cylinder I need to find something cheap for now. If I find it cheap enough I'll just try to get everything from the same donor.

My other problem is whether or not to put power brakes or manual. This decision determines what kind of master cylinder I need right (and obviously if I need a brake booster or not)?

In my Stude I used a 78 Firebird steering column and brake pedal. The mount attaches to the firewall and attaches to the column and has the pivot for the brake pedal. I've also added 2 supports to the firewall. I'm also using a power disc/drum master with an chrome 8" booster.

I think any A, F, or X body would be good canidates for parts.

This picture show the stock booster but I went smaller for better clearance to the fender.

I have manual discs on my truck and they work fine. I had manual discs on my 454 Chevelle they didn't. I converted those to power.
