GREAT TRUTHS ABOUT GROWING OLD

1) Growing old is mandatory; growing up is optional...
2) Forget the health food. I need all the preservatives I can get.
3) When you fall down, you wonder what else you can do while you're down there.
4) You're getting old when you get the same sensation from a rocking chair that you once got from a roller coaster.
5) It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions...
6) Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician
7) Wisdom comes with age, but sometimes age comes alone.

THE FOUR STAGES OF LIFE:

1) You believe in Santa Claus.
2) You don't believe in Santa Claus.
3) You are Santa Claus..
4) You look like Santa Claus.

SUCCESS:

At age 4 success is . . . . Not piddling in your pants.
At age 12 success is . . . Having friends.
At age 17 success is . . Having a driver's license.
At age 35 success is . . . ..Having money.
At age 50 success is . . . Having more money.
At age 70 success is . .. . Having a drivers license.
At age 75 success is . ... . Having friends.
At age 80 success is . . .. Not piddling in your pants.

5) It's frustrating when you know all the answers but nobody bothers to ask you the questions...

Thats because when asked the questions you forget the answers

HEY!!! I resemble those remarks!! What I hate is I keep dropping stuff and losing stuff right before my eyes. Old age aint for sissies!!

When I was young I played Football, jumped out of chopper and planes. shot two time, crashed some bikes, got in some fights and had a career as a fire fighter. Now every time I get up out of a chair or walk I remember it all like it was yesterday. Boy it hurts.

I like #7. It is true for some many people.

Lets see, I'm 60 and retired.

4. 100 sit-ups on an incline bench
5. 20 mins of yoga stretching
6. 150 crunches on the floor
7. Bench press from 135# upto 305# and back down

Water the lawn then read e-mails, surf web
Take the wife to lunch
take a nap @ 2 pm
Wake up @ 4 pm
Surf web or play video games until dinner @ 5:30

On days I have to work on the cars, I skip the nap and web
I actually feel pretty good at 60.
The workouts change somewhat, but it's Mon thru Fri.

way to go gassersgarage-i would like to have a routine like that, but i'm just too,......um.......well.......LAZY!

to add to this, PA41 had a statement one time i haven't forgotten concerning age/ages...
"a young man is looking for a good woman, a middle-aged man is looking for a good deal, and an old man is just looking for a good bowel movement"

a preacher once said, "middle-age is where your broad mind and narrow waist trade places..." i am there, my friend, i am there:rolleyes:

Ha, ha, I still look terrible, always will, but my wife loves me. She looks and weights the same since college. I'm so lucky!

I told my wife I wanted to try steroids but she said no. I asked a friend of mine, who is a body builder, how to get bigger. He said, "Eat more of use steroids". Guess I'm destined to be small.

My buddy's wife died last year. He mopped around for awhile and decided to do something. He's 66 and started eating yogurt twice a day. He lives on under 1400 calories. His waist went from 38" to 32". This year, he entered the Senior Games for push-ups. He did 87. Once a week, he sends me his caloric intake and workout. To give you an idea, this is how his morning starts off.

Wake up @ 5 am, drops and does 30 push ups.
Drinks coffee and has oatmeal with no sugar syrup.
At 6am did 110 push ups
At 7am did 101 push ups
At 8am did 100 push ups
9am to 10am nap
Starts push routine again.........
That day, he did 894 push ups.

He does this routine every other day
On his non push up days, he does dips and chin ups.

Since he started sending me this stuff, I incorporated push ups in my stretching routine. 4 sets of 25. It's killing me.............
