I've put over a million miles on my trucks and never once have they left me stranded with a repair that I couldn't manage myself on the side of the road. Today I am stranded in Frisco CO because the brand new fifth wheel rv that I'm pulling don't have any brakes. This is the second unit this week that I've pulled that has had major electrical issues and has caused me a delay. And the manufacturer will not allow me to work on the units to get me going down the road! Completely ridiculous! They didn't even want me to leave the scenic over look that I was at where there was no services at all. Plus I'm not suppose to leave the unit unattended.

So.. Anyone in Frisco by any chance? I highly doubt it as it's a tourist town but figured it's worth a shot as it looks like I will be here for a few days till the manufacturer finds someone to fix this pile.

Ok rant over!

I called my dispatch as soon as I had a issue so they know it's messed up. Plus the brake away box is melted so it's obvious that there's been a issue.

Sorry to say but it's becoming clear that this new position ain't what it's cracked to be huh? Sorry to hear you're stranded.

I ran into a guy this summer who hauls travel trailers. He had a cool trailer set up to haul 2 and was planning to modify it to haul 3 smaller ones by putting one up on the gooseneck. He gets $2.30 a mile per trailer and goes now where empty, works through a load broker.

Trust me willowbilly, I've seriously thought about getting a business class freightliner and using it to pull my wedge trailer. When I do that it will be a complete overhaul of my business. I will get my own authority and not run under someone else's anymore.

If I keep going over the road I will be upgrading my truck to something much larger on the inside. Something with a kitchenette would make traveling way more tolerable.

Well I made contact with the manufacturer. The gave me the ok to repair the unit but wouldn't pay me to do it, they will how ever pay someone else to fix it. So since they are paying me down time I will wait for the repair man to get here. They make no sense to me but it's there money!

A mobile repair truck is suppose to get here as soon as he can.

And on a positive note, I will now be able to check out some off road racing in Colorado this weekend and get a hotel room paid for to do so.

That sucks....

But sometimes you gotta make lemonade out of lemons so enjoy the Off road races and kick back for a few....sounds like you deserve it....:D

Well hitting the road again! One of the brakes shorted out inside the drum somewhere.

What?!...he wouldn't tell you what caused it?

I always love when someone comes to fix something and then doesn't give you the particulars...like your too dumb to understand them or something....oh well...at least you are on your way....too bad he didn't drag his feet a bit more...they probably found out what your plans were and didn't want to front the money....LOL.. :D

I told him we wasn't tearing into it. I was ready to hit the road as soon as we figured out where the problem was and we isolated it.

I made it to Boneheads a little bit ago and I'm ready to relax for a bit!
