Came home today around 11:45 am. Walked into the familyroom and there was a roar. The house jolted and the floor felt like it was floating. Lasted awhile then turned on the news. 5.8 earthquake! The Northridge quake was 5.9 and it flattened the Northridge Mall. Epicenter was Chino which is pretty far from me.

I came home with dessert and my mother-n-law, who is 93, said "I'd better eat it now in case there's another quake!". She always cracks me up.

Hope all's kool there. My Uncle lived in Pomona for most of his life. He was a really BIG guy & weighed 350+... he was asleep when a quake hit around there & it literally *threw* him out of bed. Now *that* was a quake!!!

Its now been downgraded to a 5.4. I guess other areas got hit pretty hard, like Pomona. Even downtown L.A. suffered damage at City Hall.

Glad you and everyone else is alright. Thats why i live at the southern edge of tornado alley, at least we can see those things coming. They dont sneak up from below.

Yeah, those quakes can be quite unnerving. Glad you rode it out OK. I lived in Norcal in '89 when the Loma Prieta Quake occured 7.1 now that was a ride. We lived ~15 miles from the epicenter. I'll never forget that one.
