I'm gathering parts to build a bobber project truck from an 47 to 54 Chevy pickup .The build will be old school and the truck will be fenderless.

I have a structural issue maybe someone could help me with . I have a ball joint axle beam fron a 72 VW Bug that's in "chrry " condition .

I'd like to use it on the project but am wondering if it would be structurally strong enough ?

Thank you in advance ,
Gonzo

Just so you know, a fenderless AD isn't really old school. That would be a style that came along in the last 10 years or so. I'm pretty sure everyone back in the day kept the fenders on their 47-53 trucks.

your'e way

new or old skool, build the way ya like:D

l get flak alla time for my MII hang'n out on the 30 something dodge sedan.

I think your front end weight will be well over what that front end was designed to carry, unless you're planning a super long wheelbase so the engine is 2 or 3 feet behind the wheels. I would use something else.
