How Big is your sand bag?

Just ordered a set of tear drop mallets, want to make sand bag to use with them. What are dimensions for a common sand bag? I was thinking 16" square about 4" deep would do the trick...........

Mine is leather, about 16" round..probably 2 1/2"-3" thick..I bought it from one of the industrial tool suppliers, about $35..I'm not very good with it, but it is fun to play with..
