I'm curious to see how hard or how much you guys drive your cars.

My daily drivers I usually take out to a road race or three and once I build a ratrod it will surely see it's share of drag strip and road races.

Do any of you do any kind of harder driving? Or is it mainly cruising?

Just curious

I don't rally much anymore. I used to drive like I was in a race everywhere I went, did some Saturday night drag racing. I am now at an age I don't have the energy for the things that need done, let alone to repair broken and abused parts. I do however know that my old daily driver 390 69 crewcab is still capale of putting the peg past 100 and out of sight.

How did my insureance agent find this page? I swear... the throttle got stuck somehow! I was NOT racing that other car!!! :D:D:D

I can no more abuse my cars than I can hit my dog. Even my drag car; I short shift it, leave the line at an idle and have never used the trans brake. I AM A WUSS!

The older I get, the slower I drive, hehehe, and Im only 36 or 37, I cant remember which,hehehe.....

When I was 18-21, I received the warning from the DOT at least twice about running out of points, so many tickets in such a short time and most were "disorderly conduct with a motor vehicle" or "unnecessary use of power", which were all squelling the tires. Or how about "hood protrusion of more than 3 inches" or tires too wide, oh and bumper height violation, not to mention the typical speeding tickets, hehehe. Not anymore, they shocked me enough times that I behave now. I wear my seatbelt, drive the limit, and use blinkers all the time:eek::eek:..........

After racing circle track and off road for several years, I dont drive hard at all. I just poke along but I do it every day, driving the wheels off my 46 Chevy truck.
Ever once in a while I do need to feel the speed and I romp on it.

Now on the other hand, when the Fiat is done, I just dont know, have to wait and see.:D

I'm like Jimmy, the older I get the slower I drive and the easier I am on equipment. By the time I was 18 I had lost my license 3 times, once for a year , and progressively over the years I have wised up. It's nice not having to watch my rearview mirror constantly to see if there are any flashing lights behind me, and also to get such low insurance rates because of my perfect driving record. :D

Let's face it, we all goose them once in a while to blow the carbon out, but short bursts are different from constantly driving like you are Mario Andretti.

don't get me wrong, I'm not racing on the streets or anything. I drive like a granny ok the streets. I do love to test the abilities of my car(s)

My driving record is spotless and I've spoken to several insurance agents about the road racing. The group I go with is called NASA and also have their own insurance

When I was racing dirt track and doing some demos, I found myself thinking about tagging someone in the fender if they were in my way.lol

I baby my cars. I have to much time and money into them and I have so many I don't have enough time to fix them if I break them. I used to drive the AMX pretty hard back when I was much younger. I was working on it all the time but it was damn quick. Then I got into circle track racing, still didn't drive as agressive as I should have until I got PO'd.

driving

..It depends on how close to being late I am for work...

Just kidding. I'm easy on equipment. I can take an old, unrestored car, check it over to make sure all systems are go, and drive it on a 400 mile trip. Then again, I know some people who would take the same car and be sitting on the side of the road within hours of taking off that day.

At the drag strip, it's all out. But I only take cars I've prepped for racing to the drag strip. Been quite a while now...

My perfect driving record was a factor in getting my job, by the way. There are some excellent jobs that demand a perfect driving record, which should be motivation to drive well.

Ok... I'm gonna fess up! This year the old Tripper has had an alum foot & no problems! But in 2007 I had an... er... lead foot! Tore up 2 motors... 2 trannys & 1 rear end. That'll kool u're heels... believe me!!! :D Does that mean I drive hard?!?!?

Having used up most of my agressions on the track when younger (tho i was probably more agressive than I should have been, even w/o fenders). I just kind toodle along at the speed limit. Tho, I have kinda tested out both rods in the burn out dept.:D:D:D

I take it easy most of the time. Reason 1: can't afford tickets, fines, breakdowns, etc. Reason 2: job Reason 3: don't like listening to people (cops) tell me how I broke some law that I knowingly disregarded and ignored for my own enjoyment
