Hey guys! I have a 39 ford truck that I bought and have no idea where all the pieces came from. It yhink it has a falcon front end, 82 T-bird motor and transmission, a 9 inch rear end, but I have a heck of a time trying to buy replacement parts. I have drum brakes on the front that are really bad! I would like to put disc brakes on the front but i am not sure what the front end
came off of. Has anybody ever run into this before? :confused:

Welcome from lower Alabama ,, and yes ,, I run into this on all my stuff .. I either done it myself or bought it that way .. should be a raised number on the drivers front side of the axle maybe under the spring mount or between it and the wheel .. When you find out what all you have keep a book on it .. I didnt and now I forgot what some parts came off of . If you find a number post it on identifying this part (I think) thats what its called .. There are some great people on here that will help you out .

Hi and welcome to RRR from northern Alberta. I have recently run into this very same problem. I bought a partly finished project and the brakes were a mess but exactly what mess, I didn't know. As Yankee Transplant suggested, I put some pictures and questions on Identify this Part on this forum and I got straightened out right away. The guys on here are really great. For my rear end brake parts I had to do a bunch of measuring, guessing and trial and error. It has also been brought up that you should write down the right parts when you find out so you don't forget or the next guy doesn't curse you out.
Keep on tinkering.

Welcome from Southern Ontario....like the others have already said - post some pictures and you will be surprised how much knowledge and help there is around here....

Hey R;

Any chance you're in the midlands? I'd like to see another local project or two and maybe exchange some ideas, parts, labor etc...
