Seems that would work better with a circular mill blade run off a tractor rather than the chainsaw. I guess it's all in how dangerous you want it to be.

Most of the harvesters use the big chainsaw. I'm not sure what that mobile unit would cost but the one that goes on the front of a skidsteer is right at $12,000. Seems it would be wore out by the time it paid for itself with $120 a cord fire wood.

It would be a cost issue for me. I can buy the bar, chain, and hydro motor for a fraction of what that blade cost.

I've watched the second vid about 8 times now. I talked to my bro n law who does set up on machines in factory's about setting up the automatic stuff. Said it could be done on the cheap if done with reclaimed parts and he thinks he has enough "junk" in his garage to do most of it.
