Not that I'd ever be able to do it with gold but I have been rolling it around in my mind that if I ever paint mine, part of the design of the paint was to draw attention to all the welds and seams with a different color to be the highlights. I'm still trying to visualize it, but think it might happen.

Gold is cool for bodywork and such but don't use it for any frame or critical welds, it just not strong enough. Safety first!

Well from the quote you can say every rat rodder sees it that way. My truck is more beautiful because of all the farmer welds and fender damage, each one is probably a story.
