what is it ? does it run ? oliver with missing side panels ?

It hasn't ran in a few years, side panels are missing and rear tires are junk. Some old tractor mechanic was fooling with it a couple years ago but had a heart attack before he got the rebuilt carb back on. Hopefully I can get it home tomorrow and see if it will pop off.

Oliver just popped in mind when I saw it .. I love to look at old tractors ,, is a cockshut the one you start with a shot gun shell ? I think I remember the one you start with a shell was a 2 cylinder

It reminded me of my Minneapolis Moline I had. It sat for years and looked like this shape . but it didnt take alot to get it fired up

The manifold was shot on it and the Everett Brothers from Ohio got me a new one for about $100 shipping and all ,, I couldnt believe they still made it ..It had a hercules engine in it .

Man that brings back memory's. my grandpa had one similar to that that we planted sweet corn with. We used to do about 2 acres of sweet corn a year.

Too bad, too far gone to save. Tires all shot, rims shot, tranny froze in gear and even with the clutch tied down, the rear tires skidded all the way onto the trailer. A quick hack in the morning for any stuff that will ebay and she heads across the scales. Hopefully the local tractor junkyard will give me scrap price so it doesn't have to get crushed, pretty sure the engine would still run, if they hadn't lost the carb.

It's a common problem for the clutch to stick while sitting up. They came with a wooden wedge that you were supposed to use to block the pedal back when you weren't using it...New Holland still uses a wooden block. As far as the carb, they're not that hard to find...a lot of different tractors used the same carb. You can buy a brand new updraft carb from somewhere like Tractor Supply or there are tractor wrecking yards like Gap Tractor Parts that would probably have everything you'd need. Having said all that, I don't think it would be worth much...unless you just really like it. Good luck, Bill.

I can buy a running one with no parts missing for about the cost of 2 new tires. If it was just a stuck clutch, that's one thing but the transmission is froze up, locked in gear and can't get it out. Or if it was just a carb I'd get it running and make some other size tires and wheels fit. But all together it's just too much investment of time and money.
If the tractor scrap guy don't buy it, I might pull the engine before it goes to the crusher. It's pretty neat, only 4 bolts hold it down and there is a shaft coming out of the bell housing that runs to the transmission so a guy could use it to power a lot of things, like maybe a wood splitter.
