Half of the problem is UPS or any other of the main shippers these days. I ship stuff all over the world, and it has gotten really bad in the last 4 or 5 years. Seems like they are trying to bust the boxes open. What it really is, is budget, time, space, and speed. To compete shippers have to worry about all those things. And when you have a claim, the deny it until you get tired of arguing with them. Still, the other half is with the company tring to save money by not packaging well.

That's too bad Don and it adds a lot of stress to the project when you are rushing to make a deadline. The lack of good customer service seems like the norm these days, to the point that I'm actually surprised when I get good service.

What are your plans to work around the problem?

I have to agreed about the UPS. Back in the 60's, it was a big deal to get an after school job with UPS. Pay was really good for a part time gig. Bunch of high school kids trying to break as many things, if not steal, as they could. I had a lot of friends that worked for UPS and they thought it was funny. That's were they got all their porno.

Did you file a complaint with www.bbb.com ? I've had pretty good luck with them. I once file a complaint for overcharging against the Performance Parts Warehouse. Lo and behold, the V.P. called and refunded the difference along with a few T-shirts. Seems I had an old catalog, but the salesman didn't get approval to ship with the price difference.

thanks for the heads up don, on that note you could try summit racing for spools of tubing and bend it yourself. They have tons of stuff and are freakin awesome (you probably already know that). Check this out though. I came to the relization that the battery box i just bought from them for my vette really was just too big and it would take more then a little fiberglassing to get it in. This was my fault because i ordered too big a box. I called summit thinking great, i'm going to have to ship this back, eat the money, get something else...etc. The guy finds a another sealed box that is smaller and will fit for sure, emails me a ups shipping label so I don't have to pay shipping on the return, orders the new one on my summit card so they can get it shipped out first thing, and notes the account to refund me on the other box when it comes in. I was amazed. I check them for everything now before I even look at other web-sites.
