I think they're great. I got a 1970- 250ci inline six that came out of my truck. Lots of parts available online. JC Whitney even has some 4-barrel manifolds and a few other things.

Yes.....

Yes, you could say I am into inlines, running a '49 Chevy "high torque" 235 in my modified roadster.
McGurk cam & 3x1 intake with Stromberg carbs, Mallory duel point, and Nicson valve and side covers.
Sorry, but I am kind of greedy about my extra parts.
There are some good deals on eBay, just keep your eyes open.

There are a few more guys here into inline 6's, I am sure they will jump in. '22

O, Yeah straight sixes are the best. I was even thinking about yanking the 350 out of my 64 and putting one in there. I'm gonna be jacking with the later 50's 235 that's in my 52 here soon. I picked up an edmunds dual 2 barrel intake from a member here w/ strombergs. Thanks again 22!:)

I would go to the cliffords website that Flat posted above. There motto is 6=8. They really know there stuff!

Also you can check out www.inliners.org

Dawg,
All of your cam mfg's make everything you are looking for.

When I was in highschool a friend bought a 77 Nova with an inline 6, 3 in the floor. He got bored with it real quick and we freshened it up a bit... It wound up being a .30 overbore, 286 cam, 490 something lift, Offy intake W/ 3 monojets setup on progressive linkage.....That little 6 banger was bad to da bone. Loads of fun too.

When I was in high school there was a older guy in town that had a straight 6 in a nova drag car. That thing would jerk the front wheels off the gound every time, and he ran solid times with it too. Big fan of the inline 8 also.

I remember an I6 drag car that had "Mean Buzzin Half Dozen" painted on the side of it.

anyone here into them, or know of any speed parts for sale or trade?...

I got all the pieces and parts to put together a 300 hp slant six. .060 over, head milled .080, ported, polished, oversize valves, 340 springs, comp cam,
3 side draught webbers, windage tray, headers.....now heres the catch, do I put it in my 66 Valiant convert or do I put it in a rat of some sort.

I'm torn, I've had the Valiant since 1968 and really need to do something with it. But I've always thought that engine would be cool in a 40's mopar truck.

Choices, choices....I have to finish my T first and then I guess I can figure it out.....

But I guess the question was do I like inlines....Yup:D

CD,,,just build 2 slanters and then your decision's done. Have seen quite a few slants in rods & they look & run great !

i got a gmc 292 big block in my car it has over 90,000 miles on it and when i took it apart to regasket it every one who saw it said it was the cleanest engine they have ever seen and it hasnt been rebuilt either. and it run like a champ to i can cruise at 70-80 down the highway with ease. its all stock to.

Trip, Thats one wild slant, I like it. Thanks for the post.

Mr. Deluxe, 292s are great motors you can get alot out of them. Now if you could get your hands on a GMC 302...

GMC 292 Bigblock? I know Chevy made a 292 Inline 6 and ive had a few but they are the same outside as 194,230 and 250 just bigger bore and stroke that doesnt make it a big block LOL now if it was a Jimmy 302 I would say its a Big Block. BTW I have a few 250 I6s and one has 43K miles someday it will be in a 49-50 chevy coupe. BTW just harassing ya BWAHAHAHA we do that here from time to time and Flat is usually the one getting harassed.
