Over the years I have bought, sold, or built from parts of several of these. One came up on craigs list, very locally, and I couldn't resist. Now I am the proud owner. The question now is what to do with it. It has been sitting for the last 7 years, after it ran out of gas out in a pasture. I think it will run, and only had 39,000 miles on it. What is it? you ask. A 1952 GMC army duece and a half. 11,000 pounds of pure goverment issue steel. 6:17 gears with a 302 straight 6 and an auto tranny. 50 mph top end, 6 wheel drive, 24 volt system, and built to last and to be unstoppable. :D

Lower it and suicide the front end. LOL. I'd love to have a 6x6 - more awesome than a Power Wagon, but what do you do with it besides off road and push stuff around? 50mph top speed? - Change that and make it a tough car hauler. Might want a roof though.

First question: How did you get it home?
Ideas: Mobile Pumpkin Launcher
Crush small towns
Homestead protection device, with the right weaponery attached
Major Lawn Art
Back Country Camper

Bob, I like all of your ideas, C-dog, you know you are right.

You are not going to believe this, but it was only about 10 miles from home, so I ran a chain through a piece of pipe, and towed it. All back roads. A friend of mine behind the wheel, pulling on the e-brake from time to time. Duramax rocks.

you ever see those mud rigs they use in Florida? Theres a company down there that turns those into 4x4s, puts a pickup box on em, and actually lifts em. Now im an avid offroader, but thats just insane. Why not get a log skidder, they would probly do the same thing. lol.

Er... like Mr Gastrick says... I don't think I ever woke up & said to myself... "Yep... I gotta have a *huge* military vehicle today"! :D:D:D

Looks like a good foundation for an urban assault vehicle.

Got any more pics of that unicycle balancing act behind the truck?

That coulda got ugly if the brake didn't hold!

I have, but the wife seems to kill those ideas quickly. That's why I'm with her....and still alive for that matter.

Yeah, I caught that too - there's another way back on the right too. Think maybe you should have a little art show.

You are mistaken.

You are just showing us the way its supose to be done.

That is an awesome photo!

There's a guy down the street from us that collects military vehicles. He' got duece and a half, a couple of Willy's Jeeps, some Pinzgauers, and some other stuff.

Can't wait to see what you get next. If you need any help reducing your inventory let me know if I can help. :D

I built this truck in 83-84, same military axles.

Heh heh, I have.... 1941 Chevy 1 1/2 ton (military rating) 4X4.
Like a duece and a half with a single rear axle, rebuilt it and drove it for years.
It was a blast in traffic cause NO ONE ever challenged you for your space. Ever.
My kids (in their 30's now) still talk about driving around in that truck.
This is just like mine, have to find my old photos now...
Bought mine in 1977 up in Big Bear, Ca.

Kick A$$ truck Bonehead, looking forward to seeing what you do with this one.
Nice metal art as always, and I see 2 more figures besides the unicycle ... '22

You may want to check out Ft. Carson some time. You might be able to find something to keep that duece company when they auction stuff off.

Wow... I'd build a huge snow plow for the front of it... Build guards for the lights and windows and strap rocket launchers and chain guns to it all Mad Max style and enter it in a real life Twisted Metal contest...
