I was stopped at a light on my way home from work today when a older black guy in a sweet looking metallic green 54 Chevy goes past in front of me. He's checking my 63 F100 out, so I give him a friendly wave. He looks confused at first, then he gets it, gives a wave back and gets a big smile. I can guarantee, if I ever see that guy stopped somewhere, we'll have a good conversation.

Most of the guys I see in their cars look away if I give them a wave when I see them looking. That ol' ratty truck ain't good enough for them.

Same here, I see lots more guys driving old cars around these days and we always trade waves or thumbs up and pull over and talk too!

I was with my son at job he was doing in a housing development , I took a walk and come across this house with an old T Bird in the garage . So I go up and knock on the door ,a lady comes to the door and I say "is the car guy home " , she says yes and i say " tell him a car guy is at the door " . She turns and calls to him and says "there is a car guy here ,see you in an hour " she was about right we spent a hour in his garage talking cars .

I exchange waves with other old cars all the time, whether I know the driver or not. A lot of times, when meeting a group of Harleys, I get an arm extended downward with the fingers making a "V". Don't know what it means, but I hope it's a sign of approval.

Everyone waves here, well not the kids on cell phones but knowing someone has nothing to do with waving. I'm surprised Iowa isn;t the same.

You get out of the city and it's country manners then - most everyone gives a wave as you pass, no matter what you drive.

I see an old car (pre-76) on the streets around here about twice a month. They don't bring 'em out of the garages but for shows and cruises. Salt in the winter, and no air for the summer.
