I've been watching the new Ken Burns series about the formation of the National Parks... very interesting! At first only the wealthy could go but as the car came into it's own and roads instead of railroads took over... millions of people visited in their cars. I'm watching the 4th episode tonight and it features a couple that visited nearly all the parks over their lifetimes & the guy had 20 something Buicks that they toured in. What a treat to see these beautiful cars. He had some coupes & lots of touring cars... grand machinery and a treat to see a chronology of Buick development! He fished & she wrote a diary of their travels complete with beautiful fotos!

I've been wanting to watch those, but here lately my 11 year old sons friends have been coming over more, and I have a house full of kids..... So instead of watching them I just sit there and wish I lived in one of them....

They actually look better in person. Go check 'em out. ;)

BTW, the most awesome monument I have ever seen. Saw this on our vacation this year. Oklahoma Land Run Monument, Oklahoma City. If your near that way, find it.

I've caught bits and pieces of it. Seems I channel surf at the wrong time, usually when there's only a few minutes left of an episode. Yes, worthwhile TV. Even had my 10 and 12 year olds watch with me the one time I was lucky enought to catch about 15 minutes of it.

Yeah I've been watching those too - great films as most Ken Burns stuff is. The WWII series by him is pretty awesome too.
