I used to work for the company (Cars& Concepts) that assembled them here in the states back in the late 80's early 90's, They were imported from Italy and the ford drivetrain was installed here at a plant in Brighton, Michigan.
There was some conflict over payment and work ceased, but I remember a fleet of them sitting around for a long time after work stopped. Nothing like a hi dollar lux suv sitting till the door hinges begin to bind with rust.
I don't know if someone else continued to build them after the early 90's but I know C&C didn't, cause the closed!! They were a nice vehicle, leather interior, blaupunkt audio and a heavy towing capacity. Probably too pricey for the time, but comparable to a range rover.
Big question is how do you rat a luxury suv???

Not a bad looking rig. Having a Ford drive train could be a good rig....but it is Italian.

Mostly jusgt curious but someone back home has one for $900 and it sounded like a fun 4x4 beater

I would get it just for the odd ball factor. Guarenteed just about everywhere you go you'll be the only person with a Laforza.
