Thx for the replies and the welcome.

The s-10 is similar to what I'm talking only with a more finished look and a not so bulky frame . I think a strait axle would clean that up.

I want my build to be fenderless. I've been looking at some older trucks but titles and metal that's too far gone has me thinking in the late model mode .

Thx
Gonzo

Here's a 63 Chevy I thought was pretty kool.
Just build a less bulky frame

I've seen several attempts at using late model cabs but a lot of them come off looking odd, even that S10 one is a bit too square looking. The biggest problem is that they are so wide compared to the 30's and 40's stuff and the body ends up hanging out over the side of the frame. I've seen some that have been narrowed, better yet is if they are narrowed more at the front of the cab so it has a wedge shape.
You've probably seen this one I did using the lower half of the doors, rear cab corners and rear panel from a 55 Chev pu. The rear of the cab is narrowed 16" and the front 26", roof and cowl handmade, I also tapered the cowl in more to further cut down on the width.
There's a 70's Ford pickup build on here somewhere in the builds that looks pretty kool, they have some neat body lines.

zzrodder has some serious metal skills

first look I thought it was factory with a small chop! always thought a 94-2001 s10 would look good narrowed because it would have a nice peak running down the middle and is all rounded 50s style kinda

FYI - a roadster has no top. Late model rats are a whole 'nother deal. Usually, the problems are the wide firewall and everyone wants to stick a 32 style upright grille on 'em - they just don't work right visually. Or they use the IFS front end and it sticks out front all wacky.

Davidhud29's 68F100 is the best, but unfinished cab I have seen. Build thread: http://ratrodsrule.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12919&page=10

This puts a new outlook to building modern iron into old school hot rods.

While appreciating the work in each truck you readers offered , I particularlly like the 63 pickup.
