ABout ready to order my front spring and looked at several sites to find to order one....Problem is one site says measure from perch hole to perch hole and minus 4 and 1/2 inches...another site says almost the same thing BUT minus 5 inches from the total to get the correct measurement...So who is correct..?

Split the difference and go 4 3/4. 
Either way a half inch isn't gonna make or break ya. Just make sure you have an exact location on your perches...

The way I always did was put the shackles on the perches and point them straight towards each other and measure center to center to inside shackle pin. Never had any problem doing it that way.
It is usually about 4 1/2 inches shorter then the center to center of the perch holes.
