I'm changing out the starter on my '25 Model T which I've never done. I took the 4 bolts holding it on & one of the oil pan bolts that looks like it might hold the housing but it won't come off. Anyone have any experience with these? Thought I'd ask 1st B4 I screwed something up.

There's only those four bolts. There is a gasket on the starter, it has engine oil behind it. Someone might have used some super goo on it, and it's stuck. Hit it! With a rubber mallet preferably.

SPY PHOTO - My research team says this is Tripper's T....

Yep... that's the beast! I talked to Texas T's this morning & they said I also have to remove the bendix of the backside of the starter then it will come off. This is a great little truck & freaks people out just as much as the Daytripper does when I drive it! Here's a link to Texas Model A & T parts... they do it ALL!!!

Cool Site..

www.oldcarmanualproject.com Click site index screen left. Look for owner's manuals. Model T manual for download.

That's a cool site, Ike. Thanks for sharing that one.
Bob, like R Pope says, you should be good with the four bolts.
That is what it takes to get mine off of the '20 TT.

Funny, I am posting about my Model TT and my Honda (BS lounge) on the site today.
Haven't even mentioned the modified ;) '22

Do your "T" buddies know about the hotrods? My Model A buddies in Texas only tolerate me because I know how to do stuff like shrink metal and weld cast iron.
I did corrupt one of them and he built a way cool speedster.
Hey were you with those T guys when they came down 80 through Grand Saline and Mineola a couple years ago? There must have been 100 of them.

There is a carshow in Cape Coral hosted by the local Antique Car Club of America branch. Those guys have no tolerance for us hot rodders. It has gotten better, but years ago they would hardly speak to you when you pulled in with some chopped up hot rod.
