So I am entertaing the idea of putting a 1 Ton, single wheel frome and drive train under a 1948 REO. I have been looking at the Dodge 3500 since it has that cummings in it. Has anyone done anything like this before? What type of measurement do I need to take to see if it will even line up? I am starting from scatch here so if someone could give me a jump start I would appreciate it. If I am am getting into a huge headache I would appreciate someone giving me a heads up!

Thanks!

a friend of mine just finished a REO he used a chevy motor home that he shortened the frame on. went together pretty good and had disk brakes all around and rear air bags. wish i could upload you some pictures but i cant upload.

That sounds promising. I went cruising around a local truck salvage yard trying to get some ideas of ride hieght and wheel options. I already have a 1983 F350 with the 6.9 in it that I have been considering taking cab off of and putting it on that. I will have to start measuring it up to see how far off I am.
