Anyone using a mono leaf front end? I've got a 37 Ford PU. Not near as heavy as original, but I still want it to be safe....and low. I'm not using a Z'd frame so I'm lowering it as much as possible through the suspension set up. Is a mono leaf safe and practical... Do they look nice (can you even see it at all)?

im using one with my 55 willys with a small block chevy and tranny in it and it seems to have alot of suspension travel left in it even when i jump up and down on the front end and im a really heavy guy

I had a mono leaf on my 32'. I didn't like it because it bottomed out too easy. If I had kept the car, I woulda gone to a Posie spring with teflon inserts for a better ride. Check out www.myhiboy.com under "repair log". She had a mono spring but switched to a Posie. Rod also has a uni-steer.

Never used one, but there have been some reports on forums like the HAMB of the monoleaf breaking. You might do a search on there and pull up the comments.

I'm like gassersgarage, I really like the Posie superslides a lot.

Dont know much about mono leaf springs but a buddy of mine is building a rock crawler with a deisel engine. A very serious build. He is using fiberglass mono springs. Says they WONT break.:D
