Ok so on my 36 ton anna half Dodge peek up....I want to use the axle that is there...(with some obviouse changes...split wishbone or radius rods or hairpins) Biggest thing is the huge bolt pattern front rims...dont want em. SOOOOOO.....

Heres the question.... What set up (backing plates hubs etc...) will be best to use? I would like to stay in the ford or dodge lug pattern and size and keep my 36 spindles if possible. My rear axle is a ford 8 inch out of a 66 mustang I am told.

Thanks to all for the help I have used to great extent ALREADY.

ok, what size is the kingpin on your axle? i used a '59 backing plate/spindle/drum setup on my '33 axle and it worked great. all i had to do was hog the kingpin boss on the axle out to .875 (7/8 inch) and drill the steering arms for truck size hardware. even gave me a matching wheel lug pattern with my rear axle. 5 on 4.5.... hope this helps ya, that interchange was the toughest thing to figure out for me on my build. nobody does old mopar stuff around here so it was largely a matter of measuring, reading and searching.
