the roots of NASCAR are in dirt tracks and short tracks , so why not have a couple races on dirt:confused:

l think they should throw in 2 dirt tracks races, a 1/2 mile track and a 1 mile track : both 500 miles for the sprint cup cars, that'll seperate the wanna be's from the real deal :D

make one in the chase, that would mix it up good

do this in the nationwide and truck classes also, just make them 350 miles.

l know

ya,

l know the one ya speak of, it's a blast to watch:D

l was thinking more along the lines of a points race, make them part of the series. that way anyone going for the championship has to run them, AND, 43 cars on a 1/2 dirt has gotta be fun to watch:eek:

if Eldora Speedway was included, that would leave only one more track to find that would host a race.

don't tony stewart own Eldora Speedway?

Who cares about a championship when you're on dirt? It's for the fun and the glory, just like the guys out there doing it every week.

And yeah T.S. does own Eldora now, but is a VERY storied track with a lot of racing history. Nothing to do with his name or ownership.

dad:D

'couse l and dad did the dirt thing for 20 years together. him driving with grampa and l pitting for him. dad said the racing is fun. but having the track champoinship was one thing he always strived for. he felt having to race for points raised the bar and gave better performances. the best he ever did on the dirt was 3rd place in the points.

l also raced 8 years on pavement circle tracks and it was fun. l never really did race for points, just for fun.

never got any glory though[dr

two different poeple have the same experience, but two different outlooks. funny how that works[S

I quit watching NASCAR at all after they messed up the track at Bristol. Might as well be watching televised tennis.

Dirt? Definitely! But NASCAR would sterilize that too....
