Need rack&pinion ideas

Installing mid 80s Omni rack on my stock 36 Plymouth axel.Some say weld brackets,some say clamp brackets? Any help would be greatly appretiated.

I've installed 2 Geo racks and 1 VW Scirocco rack on straight axles. I welded brackets to the axle and clamped the R & P unit to the brackets. They all work well. Remember, you need a slip joint in the steering shaft.
