I lost my pictures of my Son's '49 in my computer screw up, but I will gladly take some shots for you when I go to the shop. I may be going tonight, but I may also have to work on my income taxes. But I will definitely be there this weekend and will do it then.

Here, I did find two pictures that I posted on another forum, see if these help. They aren't the best, but at least something.

BTW, it has been about 45 years since I put an Olds into one of these shoebox Fords, but I remember we had to reverse the radiator mount or use a 6 cylinder radiator mount and radiator to get fan clearance. It moved the radiator up forward more.

Tom....EMS is about the only one that makes the rockers and "guess what"..they don't fit!! The curve front to back is not the same as original, ask me how I know? Had to pie cut mine to make em close enough for rat work. My advice is make your own!

My Son worked on his a little today. Got his rear door off and is looking for a passenger side tudor door. He found a drivers door on Ebay, and is going to chop the top and turn it into a tudor.

Here is a picture of his.

Sure will. We are going to document it all the way through. He is planning an S10 front clip, sbc crate engine, air bags all around, tapered 4 inch chop, moving the roof forward about 10 inches, and turning into a tudor. So we have our work cut out for us. :D

I have offered him a Chevy 3 speed stick setup I have and he is thinking about hooking it up to the Ford column shifter to make it look sorta stock.

Well keep you guys posted. :D

sounds great!!! The s-10 clip that i installed in mine worked out great!
BEEN THINKING OF BAGGING MINE TOO BUT NOT REAL SURE YET.
THE TILT S-10 COLUM Worked out great in mine too and was really easy to do .
If you guys are gonna run a standard ,how are ya gonna do the clutch pedal ?

Probably run hydraulic clutch. I have one in my '27 and it works pretty smoothly. I mentioned to Dan that hydraulic throwout bearing that they have now, so that will be the one if any.

I promised to post some pictures when we started to do the chop. Today Dan and I stripped out the entire car, removed the post between the front and rear doors (we are going to convert it to a two door using original Ford tudor doors). Then we built a skeleton inside the car out of tubing and angle iron to keep the body shape once we cut off the top.

Here are some pictures up to that point.

Then we started to remove the top. First thing we did was cut out the entire rear window. We are going to lay it down on an angle to give the rear a more sleek look once the top is slid forward to make it a tudor.

After that we cut the rest of the top off and chopped it 4 1/2 inches.

Finally, we trial fitted the top back on to see how it looked, and we were pretty happy with the look. Still have a lot of trimming, pulling and pushing to get it to line up and fit right, but we are getting there.

The big job is going to be rebuilding the rear section into the shape of a tudor. We have to build new rear windows and window frames, and that will take some doing. We are also going to extend the rear deck and make it longer like the real tudors are. But it should be pretty cool when done.

Here are the final pictures of where we left off.

whew!!! thats some big work going on there! I LIKE THE CHOP ITS GONG TO LOOK GOOD WHEN DONE ,
Got some metal in my eye today and had to go get it out and havin fun trying to typ with one eye big fun>
I need a pic of your grill brace ,the little brace3 that is behind the grill and bolts and screws to the back of the grill and top of the hood latch?

Tom, sorry to hear about the eye. Hope you are ok. I've made probably 6 trips to the emergency room myself over my lifetime for the same thing. Sometimes that little speck even gets past a pair of safety goggles. Not fun. :(:(

I will shoot you a couple of pictures and post them. Last night while dan was grinding I shot a couple more pictures of the engine room just in case someone needed some reference point. Here they are Tom, see if these help you get yours back together. I might be going there tonight for a few minutes, so I'll get those shots for you.
