Since this is my Great Grandfather it doesn't count, but I wanted to post it in his honor for Father's Day. Due to some circumstances, he raised my father. My father always called him Dad instead of Grandpa. I'm not sure when the photo was taken, but I believe the Harley is a 1934 (or something very close). He was a furniture maker by trade and was an all around craftsman. When I was a young child, he would build small working steam engines for me out of scraps he had around his workshop. It was amazing. I wish he would have been around when I was a bit older. I could have appreciated his stories about life more.
Gastrick,
I love that photo... it is really awesome!!! Thanks for sharing! I have heard quite a few stories about people back then making steam engines & that seemed to be a popular pastime back then. Very kool!!!
