Ok....everything is disconnected..( I HOPE...:(.) and I am about ready to raise the body off of the frame...NOW and and the HE** do I get that damn steering column out..?!?!? I took the top of the box off..( 4 bolts..)...it spun out a few times then stops..looked all around and cant figure this one out.I can see inside the box but really cant see whats stopping me...OPPPSS..this is for a 1950 GMC pick me up truck.Shouldnt it just keep coming out..?I tried to look online for an answer BUT I need my expert RRR brothers.:D

Not sure I'm following what you have done, but generally, you remove the wheel, slide the column tube up off of the shaft, then you unbolt the box and drop it down underneath the truck or car. I don't think you can unbolt the shaft from the top of the box without disassembling the box completely, but I could be wrong.

thats correct as far as i can figure out also i have a 45 ford and a 46 gmc gearbox, neither one came apart at the shaft inlet. i, like others either cut it to lenth or cut it and used a coupler.
sorry its hard to see in the finished pic.
