This model a came with juice brakes and everthing was in good shape and worked perfectly. Only thing was they ran a solid line to the back axle.
I cut the line and installed a flexible braided brake line section to the axle from the local speed shop. No drips, no leaks and no pedal pressure. Fluid comes out at the wheels a clear stream with no air bubbles or sputter. Has a '57 Ford single line master and i rebuilt and bled that. No difference. I have bled brakes a hundred times over the years. It will get a slight amount of pressure which it will lose immediatly if allowed to sit a second. Original plungers and cylinder bore were fine so i don't think that was the problem anyway. Frustrating because i was going to take it out for a test ride today.:( Help please!

i had something like this happen to me , i rebuilt the master cylinder, and replace a rubber line, the first couple time the brakes where pumped i had pressure, then nothing , push the pedal it would hit the floor no , resistance,, this whet on for about a hour, i checked everthing, could find anything,, went back to the M/C,, and took it apart and the rubber washer at the end of plunger had some how turned sideways in the cylinder, After taking it apart , every thing went to working right,,, no saying this is you problem ,, but i had never had this happen before, blew my ,mind!!! just a thought

It's possible air it trapped in that new flex line. You may have to use a pressure bleeder or reverse bleeder to get the air out. Other posibility is that the shoes in the back brakes have broken and the wheel cylinders are moving too far so the brake pedal is going to the floor. If you have a banjo type rear I know pulling the rear drums is a pain but you need to look at the rear brakes. Good luck!!

Man, i hate brakes! Sounds to me like its at the master cylinder. I had this same problem last week with my fathers '77 chevy. We went through and replaced the front calipers and a few lines. Then tore down the rear drums no leaks, but still no pedal. When we did get some pedal it only lasted one or two more pumps. Finally we just went out and bought a brand new reman master cyl. and that solved all the problems.

Im sure you know this and i dont mean to offend you by asking.....but did you bench bleed your master cylinder?

ok, i just read that you blocked off the master cylinder and got pedal....now im lost. Maybe your sucking air at one of the fittings? Maybe the "T" fitting that the braided line goes into is bad? I dunno, im just blurting out "what ifs"

I think now what you have to do is tear all that old stuff out and start from scratch!
