Numbers

i have brushed and scoured a straight chev straight axle and achev pikup rear axle and can find no numbers, can anyone tell what part of these 2 axles i might scour or brush on to find the numbers do i have pull the brakes ,backing plates off. help thanks robertbandit

i dont think the front axles had serial/ id numbers and the rear end was most likely on a tag bolted to the the diff. cover or center section. but i could be wrong has happened more than once lol

Generaly Chevy axels have the numbers stamped on the tubes. Driver side if memory serves me.
