I have a chance to buy a 48 Ford big truck with title. It's supposed to be real straight (haven't actually seen it). I see a lot of the pickups getting hotrodded but there doesn't seem to be much market for the parts on ebay. I'm trying to decide if it's worth the 150 mile round trip to bring it home and part it out.

Well, I would say build it! If its straight, and pretty solid, would make a great candidate for a chop!

The F1s are fun to work on and build in my opinion. You can get plenty of replacement parts online from various suppliers should you choose to restore it.

If it was a F-1 I would go, but otherwise pass if you're looking to part it. F-1 trucks can have plenty of desirable pieces, but if this is a bigger truck that's not helping any. The few usable parts on it wouldn't bring much, so unless it's really cheap I probably wouldn't bother with a drive that far. Plenty of other fish in the sea in your area...
