Do any of you guys use parking brakes in your Rod? I forgot to fab and install any brackets for them. I'll bolt or rivet the brackets on since I already painted the frame.

I got a Lokar Universal kit that was easy to install, of course I haven't tried it yet cause my cars not done, but it was only two holes to mount the brackets which I did in my tunnel and then got a floor mount handle. I'm just running the cables through the tunnel at the top and I put two little loops to hold it up there. From there it will attach to the axles, so no frame mounts at all.

You can see the little bracket here:

Then again, I'm no expert:D.

I don't use them so I can't offer any real world advice based on experience but there is also the disk style with a small caliper that mounts to the rear pinion yoke.

I have everything I need to hook them up I just overlooked doing it. The rear end has the cables, I have 3-4 pedal assemblies laying around, plenty of cables. I just didn't make and weld brackets onto the frame. Sounds like people don't use them a lot. I don't have a vehicle inspection. I'm just trying to justify to myself not having to make brackets and hooking them up. I just want to finish this thing and drive it!

I think I'm going to use a boat anchor and chain. :D

No, Ive decided to get a Lokar cable which looks like the easiest to mount and adapt to a e-brake pedal I already have.

I guess they don't call them emergency brakes for nothing.

Actually, they quit calling them parking brakes years ago, it's an emergency brake. Lokar one is good, or just modify the stock setup from your donor rear.-MIKE:cool:
