I have a few extras with my 47 ford that I will be wanting to sell but have no idea how to price them. I'm bringing them to the rumble and don't want to sell myself short or put a rediculously high price on them either.

What I have for sure are 2 complete flat head 8's and an extra hood. There are a couple bellhousings and the tranny also but not sure what the tranny is.

anybody want to educate me?

Flatheads really depends. Do they run? Are the blocks good?

I have seen them anywhere fro $200 on up.

If the hood is in good shape I would say $150 plus. I recently saw a whole front end, fenders, grill and hood going for $350.

But alas, I am no expert.

Last swap I went to that tranny was around $150 but the guy was willing to deal. If it has O/D will be worth more.

A buddy of mine just sold an 8BA for $800. It was a runner a couple years ago that we fired up after it had been sitting for 25 or so years. No water in the oil so we think it was good. The buyer was going to rebuild it regardless though...

In my limited experiance it doesn`t really matter how you price stuff at a swap meet.I had a 28-29 cowl tank priced at 125.00 and some guy looked it over and offered me 35.00 for it.Needles to say my jaw hit the ground before I told him no and brought it home with me.

I have done a lot of swap meets and I can tell you this, if you want to get rid of the stuff it has to be cheap, you usually can;t expect to get the going price for most stuff. It's generally more of a buyers market.
