thought it was about time to introduce you all to one I've spent 9 yrs working on-my 46 ford truck. My "theme" if you will, is late 50's early 60's shop truck (like somethin my dad owned way back when..) A quick list of work done so far...camaro front sub-frame, camaro rear end, 350 chevy .040 over w/flat tops, 280 comp cam
305 HO heads an old torker 2 intake. and truck ram horn exhaust manifolds--all painted chevy orange and dressed to look '60-ish 283/
the body has been patched, prepped, and sprayed in Kustom shop dark primer tone gray 2K urethane. the bed and rear fenders are still a work in progress, but I hope (and PRAY!!) that I'll get to drive it around this fall (we'll see I guess:rolleyes:

thanks

I really appreciate the comments guys.:D It seems like i've almost suffered "burnout" this spring b/c of that truck. You know what i'm talkin about.....that "i'm so close to seeing it go down the road but i'm so far away from it at the same time!!!!:(:eek: ) but i think rather than complain.....i'll just go back to the shop .....thanks again

Hey Preacher, I feel a lot better about my 50 Chevy truck project now. I've been working on mine for about 3 months off and on. My 62nd birthday will be Feb. 12, 2009 and I hope to be driving it by that date. Mine will surely have that 50's shop truck look because it is a 50's shop truck. HB

I love those trucks.... I had one in high school!! Nooooo I'm not that old....

Nice Preacher. Is this the one you are wanting to bring up here at the end of the month?

Yep, hope to get the bed on it by then, maybe rear fenders and 'boards if I get the time--still needs a tune up and maybe some BRAKES!! but if i bring it it's gonna be in that under construction class (what they don't know is it will ALWAYS be under construction!:D)

got a chance to work a little on the hotrod last week....finished the bodywork on the bed, rear fenders and sprayed them w/paint--just set the bed on to get some more room for another job... hope to finish the body/paint this coming week and take it out for a little show...

UPDATE

Just wanted to show off a few pics of this weeks accomplishments (or lack thereof:rolleyes:)
a couple of the final fab work - that tailgate was an old "porch-post" 1" square tubing and the louvers are from an old thermoking refer unit
the 'boards were so bad that we cut off the outer part and had new metal bent, which also required trimming the ends to match the fenders and underneath bracing
