I would like to use the heater and AC out of my '95 Roadmaster in my '37 Roadmaster.
I think the unit will not mount under the dash because there is not room.
I have read of others mounting an AC condenser under the front fender or in the trunk. I have not taken the unit out of the donor car yet.
I apologize if these questions seem fundamental, I just have no experience working on car heaters & AC.
1) When remote AC is added, is it a heater + AC, or just AC?
2) Has anyone used AC from a donor car mounted in a remote location?
3) Can someone share pictures of such a set-up and mounting.
Thanks

You will have a fun time pulling this off mainly because the unit is designed for the firewall. The condenser is the coil in front of the radiator and the evaporator is inside the car. You might look at suburbans or vans that have a rear unit or converting an aftermarket but the main thing is both lines have to run back to compressor and if heat is used then water lines have to be run too. Getting ducts to blow properly will be an issue it will feel like being in the back of a van with only dash vent working. The old cadillacs had the duct in the roof and blew out overhead, but anything can be done.Good luck

If possible at all it would be an uphill battle, and worse you would be hacking the hell out of your car to use dated parts. A mojave-style heater and vintage air unit would be much more suited to the build.

It is true that it will be a while before I install AC.
I'm currently dismantling the '95 Roadmaster donor car and removing everything that I plan to use on my project. The car will be moved out after I remove what can be used.
Thanks
Mutt
