Ok so the Goodguys in Spokane is coming up in a couple of weeks. I think I need some stripes for the coupster.

I call one of the local stripers, a very good one. He comes out to the house last night. We talk. I say I want something old school and tastefull. A little on the trunk, something on the dash and headlight buckets. He gets to work.

In the mean time my son and I are working on my 70 XS650 not paying a bunch of attention, I know some artists and musicians and know enough to keep my mouth shut when they are doing their thing.

I think he got carried away:p

I love the color, the only thing I don't like about the lines is that he leaves open ends..I like everything to tie back in. I don't think it's too much, lines re like fun and money...you can never have too much :D

Years ago, I was at an indoor car show in Memphis (world of wheels?). There was a pinstriper doing a 70-ish camaro drag car that belonged to guy that could have easily passed for a drug dealer. Anyways, the car owner wandered off and let the pinstriper do his thing. The guy went crazy. Nothing really complemented the existing graphics on the car.

I sat and watched they guy paint/waited for the owner to show back up thinking all hell was going to break loose.

I was right. The owner pitched a BIG FIT when he saw the car. He was saying the pinstriper was going to have to repaint the whole car it was so bad. They had to call the cops.

I like it!!!

But I don't get the striping on the door? I kind of wonder what it would look like lightly scuffed to age it!!

Very nice work though!![cl

I think I agree. JMO, the color of the rod is subtle....soft. Would the stripes look better "softened" a little?...not quite so bold?

Maybe....?

Got around to taking off the hideous strips. Couldn't stand it any longer.

I did leave the stripes on the trunk. I will no longer have to wear a paper bag on my head when I go cruizin' ......or maybe I should:rolleyes:

I'm with you, the style, colors and shapes just didnt fit or compliment the awesome rod you have built. I really dont like the black and yellow for whatever reason...

I really, really like your car btw, a very sweet built.
