Power steering question

I was in the process of plumbing my power steering box today and
now I'm wondering if the '99 Dodge pump is going to be compatible
with the '75 Camaro box as far as pressure goes.

Anybody have any experience in this area?

will they even thread up ? I think i;m going to mate a 82 chevy p.s. box with the 97 ford .. its smaller on the fitting maybe I can adapt some how , never thought of the pressure

I think the pressure difference is between gear or rack & pinion.

Yeah I just had to have a pressure line made up with the two different ends on it. '99 Dodge on the pump end and '75 Camaro on the box end.
$64 and away we go.

OK where did you get your fittings ? I think the chevy would be standard for my 82 but the ford is a 97 so it may be metric IDK?

I've done a lot of engine swaps,(different brand engines) and so far, haven't ran into a problem with the pressures being wrong. Right now, on my Ghia, I'm using a '98 Escort rack and pinion with a '70 Merc pump. Works great. As far as fittings, I usually use the original ends off of both vehicles and let the auto parts guys make a hose for them or cut both hoses and put a splice in the middle. Good luck with it.

I had the line off the '99 Dodge and I bought a line for the '75 Camaro
box at NAPA. Took them to the hydraulic line guy and he made up what
I needed.

That's the theory I'm going with. I don't think I'll have any problems.
