Today the body came off. final welding on the frame and a few other things, then final assembly begins. Hopefully I'll have it on the road this summer. Progress has been good, compared to the last 2-3 years anyway.

Here's the finished version of my remote master cylinder.

For some reason I never caught on that your remote MC was that far back. Cool.

Shock mounts look good too. But the little chunk of plate behind it looks kind of ... chunky? Not wanting to drill through the frame there? Maybe round off the corners on it?

Maybe I'm nitpicking now...

Sure glad to see the progress WB3. Will we see "on the road" pics in oh, say, 90 days?[dr

I know nothing's gonna break on anything you build.[cl

Yeah, I debated quite a bit on how to mount them. With my frame boxed I would have had to make some sort of bushings that went all the way through the frame and there is some things interfering on the inside of the frame, or rather there was. At any rate I decided to just make a a piece out of 1/2" thick bar stock and tap my holes into it. When I get the frame stripped down I will drill the holes on through the frame and those lug nut spacers won't be on the final assembly. 10-4 on rounding off the corners of those mounts.
I hope to have roll out pictures within 90 days, this is the blow apart for final assembly. I have a lot of tacked on stuff that needs final welding on the frame and then final assembly, wiring, fuel tank, floor pans, seats ect. Lots to do yet but progress has been good. Well, for me anyway, I spend more time staring at stuff and scratching my head than I do actually getting something done, lol.

Progress that looks like it isn't. The car is now completely torn apart. The front axle is at the alignment shop getting new kingpins. The 9 inch is stripped down and cleaned up, a buddy is supposed to produce a posi, probably(hopefully) something 3:70-4:10. Today or tomorrow I will finish all the welding on my frame and hopefully I can start back together within a week. Also I will put all new gaskets in my sbf 260, it hasn't been on the road in a lot of years.

I got the old Lincoln 200 fired up yesterday and finished all the welding on the frame and rear end, got everything cleaned up and primered and the rear end housing got a coat of black. If it isn't too windy today I will paint the frame. My front axle is out getting new king pins and should be done soon. By the weekend it will be back in the shop on stands and starting the final assembly.

It's been windy outside and no room to paint indoors. So I decided to brush paint the frame with some pretty thick black enamel. It isn't too bad, the normal run here and there where the brush goes past a hole or bracket. I wish I had paid a little more attention to the cleanup. Around those areas I had tacked with that nasty little flux core welder, there was a lot of spatter I didn't notice until the paint was laid down. None of it will show when the car is done so I decided to live with it.
