Ok, some knucklehead welded a piece of 1/2" angle iron to the tie rod that is attached to my 31 front end. Can these be bought aftermarket? The existing tie rod looks just fine, and I'm not sure why anyone would do that, but that is my question. Can one be made, I mean it's a piece of round stock that has been threaded. Thanks in advance.

The reason they did that is they bend easily and they were probably renforcing it straightening it. Any Model A restoration place will sell them also. What end does you have? Tapered studs or the original ones that fit over ball ends on the steering arm.

This is what mine looked like on my 34.

Mine has the ends that fit over a ball. I ordered new spindles tonight, so I can probably use a heimi joint on the new steering arms. I'll probably just make a new drag link.
