Question for donsrods

I was reading bells 26 or 27 dodge build and he said you turned him on to a 2002 BMW steering box, What model BMW was the box from? all the BMWs I find in bone yards are rack and pinion. Thanks for your help.

The model IS a BMW 2002 - built from 1962-1977. NOT a 2002 model year BMW.

Sorry I didn't see this thread until now, but the guys fielded it for me. They are of course correct. Those boxes show up on Ebay occasionally and go for between $ 75 and $ 100.

Here, this is the type you want. It is the manual version not power steering. Get the arm with it too as it has an odd tooth pattern and you can either bend the BMW arm to work or use it as parts to build a different arm.

I found this old picture of one of these boxes mounted in the first rpu my Son was building. Hope this helps you out.
