Question from the newbie.

Hey All.

I usually drive Mr Gusett nuts with questions, but I thought Id stir up sum chat of my own.

Probably a dumb question, but I wondered why nobody ever stretches out the front end on there rat rods? I think it would be pretty cool to have a long nose with room between the front grill and the motor. Any reasons people dont? Any pics of em stretched out? Tnx, RR

Not speaking for everyone but the reason I didn't stretch mine out any further is because of the long turn radius it would have. It will be hard enough to turn the tires without power steering and not real interested in backing up three times to get in a parking spot. i really like the look of them stretched though.

Mine sticks out in front of the grill, but the radiator hoses are standardish.

Because it makes the proportions all wrong. Pushing the wheels out a little is ok, but it is very easy to make it look awkward. You can also run into issues with unsprung weight, depending on how it is set up. Also as others have mentioned you will need a ten-acre field to turn it around...
